The Dentist and Hospital Tour...

Today was Zac's first dentist appointment and he did GREAT!!! I was so nervous bc you never know how a 3 year old will act. :) But, the office was very kid friendly and they don't allow parents to go in w/ the child. I was not sure how this would be since this was a new place for him. But, he walked right in w/ the lady and sat in the chair and opened his mouth. It was pretty neat bc we could watch from big windows in the waiting room. We could see them but, they could not see us. I must say what a big difference it makes when the mom isn't around. Kids sure act different around others. Anyway, they did x-rays and a full cleaning. Also, the dentist came in and poked around w/ her "pokey tool" as Zachary said. The end result was NO CAVITIES! She said she could tell he doesn't eat a lot of sugar and regularly brushes his teeth. That is mostly true but, go figure my child loudly asked me in the waiting room for chocolate!!! It was pretty funny. I was very proud of him.

The hospital tour was a different experience. It was supposed to be for kids 2 and up. I figured Zac was 3 and it would be a great experience for him. The drive into the city was fine and Zac loved all the big buildings bc they had lots of bricks on them. :) We got to Prentice and went to the classroom and no one was around. So we waited for a few minutes and the volunteer came in to start the class. It was to start at 11am but, we were missing one person so they decided to wait. But, by this time we were already waiting for over a half an hour and Zac's patience was gone. Anyway, she told all the kids to sit down and wanted the them to go around and say their name, age, and if the baby is a boy or girl. There were about 8 kids and the youngest was Zac. They ranged from 4 1/2 to 8 years old!!! Most of them were 6. After that was over she started asking all these baby questions to the kids. Poor Zac was lost. He had no idea what she was asking so he started putting stickers all over the table!!! Then, she started a movie. I thought my child was going to run out of the classroom. He was so antsy by this point. We finally got to go see a room and that was nice. He was very good on the actual tour. Then the it was over. I was a little bit disappointed bc it was described to me as geared toward younger children. Not true. But, after that we went to the cafeteria and ate lunch and he was a perfect angel. All and all it was a good trip but, I will definitely know for future reference to ask the appointment setter better questions. :-)

We've had a busy few days......
